Staff Profile: Emalie Rosewarne

Emalie Rosewarne is a PhD candidate and Research Assistant at The George Institute for Global Health. She is also an Accredited Practising Dietitian and holds a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from The University of Sydney.

Emalie’s main area of research, and the topic of her PhD, is in institutional nutrition policies and their impact on dietary intake. Her research involves investigating opportunities for strengthening food procurement policies, identifying implementation challenges and opportunities, and monitoring and evaluation of food procurement policies in public settings.

Emalie’s work for the Public Health Advocacy and Policy Impact team, and World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre on Population Salt Reduction, focuses on supporting salt reduction strategies in Australia and globally. In November, Emalie went to Vanuatu to support a multi-sectoral Food Policy Forum, which focused on improving the health of the Vanuatu population and improving the food environment.
